The narrows challenge is a full day of activities taking place at the Narrows Marina & Day Use Area.
Pancake Breakfast & BBQ Lunch
- $4.00 gets you pancakes & coffee or juice
(8:00am – 10:15am) - $5.00 gets you a burger & drink
(11:30am – 7:00pm) - Race participants & volunteers get 1 free burger and drink
Live Entertainment
(5:30 – 7:00 pm)
- Mike Bauche and Something Drift will provide a free evening musical performance for racers, spectators, campers and all others to enjoy.

What is the Narrows Challenge?
- A 17 km canoe challenge
- Check in begins 8:00am race start 10:15am
- From narrows marina to the end of the narrows and back
- $10.00 entry fee per paddler
- Canoers and Kayakers Welcome
- Teams may bring their own boats, or the marina can provide one at a discounted rental rate please book early to insure you have a boat
- Register and receive entry into the VIP / Sponsor BBQ Area
Are there prizes? Yes
- The fastest teams will be awarded medals
- The winners will have their name added to the Narrows Challenge Trophy
- You don’t have to be the fastest team on the water to win the prizes
- All sponsored prizes will be awarded from a lottery amongst all race participants
- Camp Friday and Saturday at the Narrows Campground or enter the race and you could win:
- a brand new canoe — sponsored by Rawlco Radio;
- an annual PANP family pass; or
- 2 nights camping at the Narrows

Waskesiu Lake Adventure Centre The Fern Interpretive Tour Boat
- Running tours of the narrows all day starting at 9:00am. Tours departing on the hour
- Provides an opportunity to observe the race as it happens and learn something new
- $2.00 / person
Fresh Air Experience (FAE) Demo Day (10:15am – 5:00pm)
- FAE will have equipment on-site for racers and spectators to try the latest in canoes and kayaks
- FAE Staff will also be present to answer general questions about paddling and paddling equipment.
PANP Interpretive Displays
- Interpretation and activities from Prince Albert National Park (PANP) Staff, 10am – 2pm.
